Monday, i ended up waking up way too early to catch the super bowl. i think that is the first football game i watched all year but it sounded like fun at the time.

i watched it at jay's place with a bunch of people who had / do work in Redmond so everyone was a seahawk's fan. Too bad for them ;). The game was good. Did not get to see any of the commercials though. We were watching the espn international broadcast on pirated Filipino satellite. We did get to see the same nike commercial twice for every break though. They would show the commercial then a commercial for nokia football crazy (an espn show) then the nike commercial again. In the words of Lewis black, they could have only been targeting one segment of the population, those with alzheimer's.

allow me a little bit of maudlin indulgence. i got to talk to chris' party back in Seattle before i left that morning which was nice. It was good to catch up with people briefly, even those distracted by chili or the game :). It did make me a little homesick though. It would have been nice to be eating chili and watching the game there.

it snowed about three inches as well. It started when i left the hotel and was done by the end of the game for the most part. This was the first and supposedly only snow for the season. Unlike Seattle the city kept chugging along. They have a limited number of salt / plow trucks which they use mostly for the ring roads. For everything else they rely on the snow being worn away and an army of old Chinese women to clean off the sidewalks.

i also found an apartment last night. It is a two bedroom near work. i will post more about it tomorrow.

my music recommendation for today is the white stripes - the white stripes - v2. Not my favorite album of theirs ?(de stiijl is) but the one i listened to yesterday. If you have not caught on yet, i am only recommending albums listened to that day. This album was the white stripe's first. this album shows a lot of their influences and it probably the most sprawling (except for get behind me satan).
