last earth temple post, more masks. These made me laugh though because it is all monsters (uncle fester type monsters, republican president type monsters, Iraqi dictator type monsters, terrorist type monsters, scary Disney type monsters). a interesting selection of things chosen to scare and shock. The Saddam mask seemed to be the most popular walking around the fair. Also this stall was a couple of stalls down from where hua and i almost got involved in a food fight. We stopped to buy something to drink after eating and were in the process of getting our money out when i was hit in the shoulder with something that looked vaguely like potato salad. As i looked up i saw a screaming woman grabbing handfuls of noodles from in front of a vendor and throwing them at his face, he responded by screaming himself and throwing more potato salad. It was at this point that hua decided we should go to a different stall to get something to drink. i wanted to stick around and take pictures but that probably would have just excerbated the situation and made me more of a target.

this is the entrance again. hua and i left then found out that the lama temple we wanted to go to next was actually right at the south gate of the temple (this was the north) so we paid our 6 quai and walked through again.

this was the craziest thing i ate that day. It was a boiled / fried? starfish. hua and i were eating the chicken hearts and i saw someone eating a starfish and said something along the lines of "starfish, that is pretty cool". Two seconds later hua had two starfish for us to try. He had not eating one either so we did not know what to expect. i let him try it first and he bite into it and rapidly spit it back out on the plate and threw away the plate in one quick "man i do not want this thing anywhere near me" motion. With my confidence at an all time high i took a bite. It was not as bad as i expected from hua's reaction but it was not very good either. Basically it was like eating fishy water. The starfish was crunchy but all you could taste was fishy, bad fishy. After a bite i tossed mine as well.

this was another area of the fair. They had a hill you could ride a sled down as well as hairy pony rides (shetlund maybe) and sleigh rides were you were hauled around by a reindeer. Mostly a young kids type area again. It was impressive to see a giant hill made out of ice though.
