this is the only time you will see the line waiting to get on to the subway like this. Usually it is a step above wrestlemania getting on, even in the middle of the day when you would imagine that less people would be riding.

i have to admit though today was the first day i have seen a line respected in Beijing. i was waiting in line to buy a ticket for the train and some guy came in and tried to cut. i have gotten good at this, you just stand so close to the person in front of you that no one can fit in between. So he tried cutting in front of a couple of other people.

finally he got bored of being subtle and just went to the front of the line and started throwing money at the ticket seller. She would not give him a ticket which was the first surprise but no one in line would let him cut which was even more amazing. He was still trying to get a ticket by the time i walked to the platform.

class was fun again today. i have to admit though it is incredibly frustrating at times. i am probably one of the worst in class slightly ahead of the Mongolian kid and that is because he just seems to say random sounds whenever the teacher asks him to repeat something. i thought she was going to kill him today. She kept saying the same syllable over and over again and pointing at it on the page, he just kept shouting out some random noise. Overall it is fun being challenged in this way.

had dinner at the same restaurant as last night. i really want this place to be awesome because i walk past it every day and it would be so easy.

it was not awesome though. The sauce is good but i just keep getting questionable meats. If anyone knows what is to the left, let me know. at first i thought it was squid but then the smell hit me. It had to be meat of some kind. Also it had bones. i am guessing it was tendon or something similar. Not my favorite meat. i guess i just have to keep trying (or learn the characters for at least the basic foods).

speaking of food, i at lunch with xu today and at the end of the meal i decided to grab one more piece of beef from the dish. As i grabbed it he stopped talking at just watched me eat it. After sticking it in my mouth i asked him why he was staring and after i got out "why were you ..." i followed with "because i just ate a pepper". It tasted pretty waxy at first then my mouth caught fire and i started hiccuping violently, like people turning around in their seats to look at me violent. xu could not stop laughing for about twenty minutes. Every time i hiccuped he laughed harder.

i asked him we he did not tell me i was eating a pepper and he said it was cause i mentioned that i liked spicy food and he thought i just wanted really really spicy.

i know you are looking at this picture of the hangars and saying to yourself. Well that is all messed up the hangars in the back are not organized by color or size. i know i agree but i am trying to be less ocd so instead of reorganizing all of these hangars i took a picture. It will keep me up tonight though.

i am heading to Shanghai tomorrow so i probably will not post anything until next week unless i get really ambitious Sunday night when i get back.
