Are they vertical or horizontal?
The texture on this one was great:
There were not quite as much fun but I still like the flipped perspective:
"The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naïve and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair." - H. L. Mencken

Work decided to give us a morale boost after a slightly rough beginning of the month so we got to head up to the summit in Snoqualmie. It fit in with my once a year ski schedule and was a good time.
Got some good nature photos. The mountains really are pretty when snowcapped, who knew?
This was just a fun shot from the gas station that has become one of my favorite. I seem to really like reflections be they in mirrors or something else:

We got a little bit of snow but looks like this might have been the last day.

Taking while waiting for the never showed up shuttle. I am pretty impressed with what the point and shoot is capable of when you let it work for a little bit:

Frozen skirt. I broiled it covered in tomatoes and made a homemade mustard and onion sauce.
It was a good idea but almost too salty to eat:

Baby drinks on the phone for baby conversations. I would have hated to see the bottle had there been a large conversation:

After messing around with the starry sky setting I decided that using the point and shoot would be a good chance to focus on composition. I liked the texture contrast in this in theory but execution was not that great:

One attribute I like about the point and shoot is its starry sky setting. This keeps the shutter open for 15, 30 or 60 seconds. And cause the sensor does not take in that much light you can use it where I would not use my regular camera (Until I get some filters for this purpose). So I played around with this setting quite a bit while waiting 35 minutes for the bus and then equally as long for Eric.
I like the background in this, especially the upper right. I am not sure why the sky is looking quite that textured but it is awesome:
Starting to play with movement in the exposure and like the large hat on the small body:
Getting a little double exposure (hahahahaha):
See no, speak no, hear no…:

Have been taking pictures recently just not posting them.
Here is some veils which is an interesting contrast against the wall paper. Course it would have been more interesting had I filled the frame with more veil:

Not sure what the dog was guarding but he was not paying me any attention:
I liked the red in this sunset quite a bit but it does not show up as well as I would like in this photo but I am getting reused to the camera so moving in the right direction:

So I randomly decided to make some homemade pasta sauce after surveying what was in our fridge. I am proud to say it turned out pretty good even with me not cracking open a cookbook.
It was a little chunky as I let too much water boil off. It also reminded me of the hamburger Eddie Murphy’s mom used to make as it had lots of green pepper and other whole veggies in it:

Which I still like but it just is not the same. One thing that is easier is moving the camera to different vantage points because I am ironically less worried about dropping it due to size.

This is why I have been posting so intermittently. I got way too excited by how beautiful a day it was out and how awesome it would be to walk to work taking pictures.
I picked up the camera without seeing that the strap was hooked on the coffee table. The front optic no no longer fits in the lens.
I am going to try for a warranty replacement but am not holding my breath.

This is why you should monitor your children for signs of OCD.

Wandering around taking a lot of photos. As it was dark they were mostly of buildings. There were not that many people out as it was pretty cold.
These are starting to become my favorite photos and the problem is that I am not sure exactly what I am doing to get this sort of lighting. Need to keep working on it:
This was taken before heading out as the sun was setting. I like how the building hid it:
The red light district:
Another favorite, although I should have tightened down the aperture more to make sure everything was in focus:
Random street scene:
Some texture:
Trying some black and white composition but need to work on it:

Back to the food. I decided not to be defeated by the raw pork of the last week so I got some more to try again. This time I pulled out all the stops with mayo and breadcrumbs. With that combination it does not matter how you cook the pork as it will be delicious:
And it did turn out to be pretty good. The broccoli had a little much in terms of lime juice but it was ok:
