Princeton

While staying in Princeton I got to wander around at night and take a couple of shots I really liked.  It was a great city but reminded me a lot of the movie Hot Fuzz as it seems like they keep the students locked away from the general population.

This was my favorite.  The fact that you can see the fan in it makes it for me:

Even though fuzzy I like how this turned out as well:

Abstract Cityscapes

Lots of wandering around and taking random photos.  These turned out to be some of my favorite I have taken in a while.

This is the best shot I have from our balcony.  The clouds are astounding:

JB_20090307_1239

This took a while to get as the focus was not really working due to the many small focus points.  Once I got it though I really like the interest the barb wire creates:

A little ripple:

The bokeh on this is the best I have taken so far:

This is not as exciting but I do like a good shot of texture:

I just thought this was really funny:

Fat Belly

I was looking at a lot of other photographers work and am pretty infatuated with how you can push and pull on skin.  There are some really cool ways of creating semi-abstract shots with fingers and skin.  This is not that but a step in that direction:

Raining Paws

Although it was not really raining when I took this shot it kind of looks like it.  The aspect that I appreciated was the shot of red in the sunset against the dark of the sky:

JB_20090303_0877

I just like how the leg looks here.  Also I am liking focusing on aspects of a subject that I would have just included earlier as part of the whole:

Fashion Show

I was lucky enough to go with Yachi to a fashion show where the models were wearing her dresses.  It was on the 70-something floor of the Columbia tower which was pretty awesome.  I took a ridiculous amount of landscape photos but after staring at them forever decided that none of them were that good.

The shots of the models were a little bit better I think.  It was awesome to be able to take photos like this.  I learned quite a bit about timing and positioning.  I look forward to the next time I am able to do this as it beats taking photos of buildings any day.  People are so much more dynamic and the challenge of catching them at the best time is a lot more fun.

This is one of my favorite shots I took.  I like the whole composition.  It might end up somewhere on the Calla website:

JB_20090301_0677

The shot of this veil is my second favorite.  I like the contrast between the veil and the background:

JB_20090301_0770

This was another shot where I felt like the image the model was projecting really came through:

Ski Day

Work decided to give us a morale boost after a slightly rough beginning of the month so we got to head up to the summit in Snoqualmie.  It fit in with my once a year ski schedule and was a good time.

Got some good nature photos.  The mountains really are pretty when snowcapped, who knew?

This was just a fun shot from the gas station that has become one of my favorite.  I seem to really like reflections be they in mirrors or something else:
