Fill And Grill

More filter fun.  I tried it more with the black and white and like the effects it gives.  It is cool to be able to see these in the camera as opposed to trying to add them after the fact through software.  I think it enables you to make a better composition because you are thinking the shot through a little more:

Memorial Day BBQ

Had to break in the new grill and I think it turned out pretty well.  There was good conversation and a great selection of food other’s brought.  Even the food I made turned out ok.

There were also lots of babies.  One of the goals of the BBQ was to introduce Kip and Morgan to people who could help them out with baby stuff in Seattle and I think that was relatively successful as well.

A Seafood Feast

Yachi’s parents were in town and decided to make a hugemongous feast for all of us.  We had crab, shrimp, pork, corn, broccoli and rice.  So many crab we had to get a large steamer from one of the two places in Seattle that sells them.  It was awesome.

I Used To Love H.E.R.

A tribute to Common.  Again this has the lighting that I really like but am not quite sure how to achieve except through accident.

And getting back into my new years resolution to cook once a week.  i was being lazy for a while but decided to make something I know until I really like it.  This was almost there but the sauce was too chunky.  Needed more water:

Lots of wandering around and taking random photos.  These turned out to be some of my favorite I have taken in a while.

This is the best shot I have from our balcony.  The clouds are astounding:

This took a while to get as the focus was not really working due to the many small focus points.  Once I got it though I really like the interest the barb wire creates:

Fashion Show

I was lucky enough to go with Yachi to a fashion show where the models were wearing her dresses.  It was on the 70-something floor of the Columbia tower which was pretty awesome.  I took a ridiculous amount of landscape photos but after staring at them forever decided that none of them were that good.

The shots of the models were a little bit better I think.  It was awesome to be able to take photos like this.  I learned quite a bit about timing and positioning.  I look forward to the next time I am able to do this as it beats taking photos of buildings any day.  People are so much more dynamic and the challenge of catching them at the best time is a lot more fun.
