The haze in this is pretty cool I think. I like the angle on the tree trunk as well.

Jail Door
After messing around with the starry sky setting I decided that using the point and shoot would be a good chance to focus on composition. I liked the texture contrast in this in theory but execution was not that great:

Ghost In The Shell
One attribute I like about the point and shoot is its starry sky setting. This keeps the shutter open for 15, 30 or 60 seconds. And cause the sensor does not take in that much light you can use it where I would not use my regular camera (Until I get some filters for this purpose). So I played around with this setting quite a bit while waiting 35 minutes for the bus and then equally as long for Eric.
I like the background in this, especially the upper right. I am not sure why the sky is looking quite that textured but it is awesome:
Starting to play with movement in the exposure and like the large hat on the small body:
Getting a little double exposure (hahahahaha):
See no, speak no, hear no…:

Stripes And Soft
Have been taking pictures recently just not posting them.
Here is some veils which is an interesting contrast against the wall paper. Course it would have been more interesting had I filled the frame with more veil:

Guarding The Sun
Not sure what the dog was guarding but he was not paying me any attention:
I liked the red in this sunset quite a bit but it does not show up as well as I would like in this photo but I am getting reused to the camera so moving in the right direction:

Homemade
So I randomly decided to make some homemade pasta sauce after surveying what was in our fridge. I am proud to say it turned out pretty good even with me not cracking open a cookbook.
It was a little chunky as I let too much water boil off. It also reminded me of the hamburger Eddie Murphy’s mom used to make as it had lots of green pepper and other whole veggies in it:

Back To The Point And Shoot
Which I still like but it just is not the same. One thing that is easier is moving the camera to different vantage points because I am ironically less worried about dropping it due to size.

Tragedy
This is why I have been posting so intermittently. I got way too excited by how beautiful a day it was out and how awesome it would be to walk to work taking pictures.
I picked up the camera without seeing that the strap was hooked on the coffee table. The front optic no no longer fits in the lens.
I am going to try for a warranty replacement but am not holding my breath.

Another Lonely Night
Wandering around taking a lot of photos. As it was dark they were mostly of buildings. There were not that many people out as it was pretty cold.
These are starting to become my favorite photos and the problem is that I am not sure exactly what I am doing to get this sort of lighting. Need to keep working on it:
This was taken before heading out as the sun was setting. I like how the building hid it:
The red light district:
Another favorite, although I should have tightened down the aperture more to make sure everything was in focus:
Random street scene:
Some texture:
Trying some black and white composition but need to work on it:

Keeping You Out
Through signs:
And fences:
Back to the food. I decided not to be defeated by the raw pork of the last week so I got some more to try again. This time I pulled out all the stops with mayo and breadcrumbs. With that combination it does not matter how you cook the pork as it will be delicious:
And it did turn out to be pretty good. The broccoli had a little much in terms of lime juice but it was ok:

Wandering In The Night
I got a couple of minutes on Thursday and decided to spend it wandering around the neighborhood taking some photos.
I like how this turned out with the flipped view:
Remind me of a birthday pony:

A Slight Diversion
From our scheduled programming. I was thinking about it recently and this blog has turned quite a bit from what I originally planned for it. It started off as a travel blog and then was a dumping ground for random fun stuff I found on the interweb interspersed with some deeper thinking. Now it is the 365 site where I am posting my new passion.
I miss having a place where I can put some of the longer posts that just don’t really have a place lodged in with my pics. I also chatted with a friend a couple of weeks ago about exploring some other interests and how to make that happen. He had the great suggestion of setting up a new blog to capture some of the thoughts I had around things and sharpen up on my writing.
I like this idea but don’t have enough time currently to post with any regularity to this new blog. I have also noticed that a lot of people’s blogs I follow seem to have tailed off on posting anything with a lot of substance. Everyone seems to be using facebook and other mechanisms to keep their networks up to date (which is what facebook is for and why you will see me on it soon). All of this tangentially gets me to the long winded point of this post:
This blog will be dedicated to whatever people want to write about and hopefully you all will help out with keeping it filled with interesting essays. I will probably post on music and politics, perhaps economics if I get my shit together. Point being, let me know if you want to add anything to it and we can work it out.
